Machel Montano has dropped the official music video for Private Party, taken from The Origin Project produced by Prince Pronto.
The music video was co-directed by Hey Choppi and Machel Montano himself and he took to social media today to say “On this day, for the past 10 years, I would have been performing in front of 20k of my fans, as we fete for hours, a week out from carnival.”
He was of course referring to Machel Monday, his annual carnival concert staged at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. The long running event came to a spectacular conclusion in 2020 with a show dubbed “The Wedding” at which a marriage ceremony took place, as he and his long time girlfriend Renee Butcher got hitched.
Speaking about his latest music video, Machel said “None of us could have imagined we would have to fete like this for 2021, but this is our current reality, so we havin a private party!!! “The living room is meh playground, ah watch it turn to the stadium !!!”
