Our terms will answer most frequently asked questions.

COVID-19 CONTINGENCIES

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, please be aware that there have not been any changes made to the refund policy and deposit payments remain non-refundable. All payment deadlines as published, remain in place and must be adhered to. In the eventuality that Notting Hill Carnival 2022 is postponed or cancelled then the production of all costumes will be completed and costumes will be distributed as normal in August 2022. Any associated band costs / fees will be deducted / refunded from the total cost of your package and the current theme “Africa – The Journey” will not be carried over to 2023.

Is there are a minimum age ?

Yes. All participants must be aged 18+ and photo ID will be required.

How do I make further costume payments ?

After you have paid your deposit, you can pay the remaining balance via the further payments page in our shop.

When is my payment deadline ?

The deadline for balances to be paid in full is 1st March 2022 / 1st May 2022 for packages ordered after 1st March 2022.

Can I change my order ?

We will accept amendments to sizes only and any changes must be submitted no later than 28th February 2022.

After this date it will not be possible to make any further modifications to your order.

Can I cancel my order ?​

You can cancel your order at any time, although your deposit is non-refundable.

Can I sell my costume to another masquerader ?

Yes. Costumes can be sold on to another masquerader but only under the following conditions.

All sizes and options on the original order will be transferred and cannot be changed or amended, the costume must be sold as seen.

You must send an email to info@socaholic.com forwarding to us your order confirmation and providing the name and contact details of the person that has purchased the costume.

We will then contact you and the purchaser of the costume to confirm and complete the transfer of the order.

When do I collect my costume ?

The full costume distribution schedule will be emailed to all masqueraders and published across our social media channels.

The designated day for Maasai costume collection is Sunday, 21st August 2022 between 12.00 pm and 4.00 pm.

If you cannot attend on the designated day then you can collect your costume on any subsequent distribution day.

Collection on Saturday, 27th August 2022 between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm has been designated for international and out of town masqueraders to collect their costumes.

Any costumes not collected after this time will be resold on the same day, between 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm.

At this time deposits and all further payments are non-refundable.

There is strictly no costume distribution taking place between Tuesday 23rd August 2022 and Friday 26th August 2022.

We will not be making available any early costume collection slots via appointment.

How do I collect my costume ?

Your costume will be collected from the UCOM Carnival Mas Camp, located at 13a Heybridge Way, London E10 7NQ.

Please ensure that your order has been paid for in full before attending distribution as otherwise you will not be able to collect your package.

Make sure that you have received your Paid In Full Confirmation from us. If you do not have this then please contact us immediately. You will not be able to collect your costume without this.

Your costume can be collected on your designated day or any distribution day thereafter, however priority will be given to those collecting on their assigned days. Please try to collect on you assigned day to ease congestion and wait times.

Please have your original, valid Photo ID and Paid In Full Confirmation ready when get to the front of the queue as this will help to speed up the process. You will not be able to collect your package without an original, valid form of photo identification.

Without any of the above documentation, we will not be able to release your costume.

Can someone else collect my costume for me ?

Costume packages must be collected by the person named in the order or by a confirmed designated representative only.

If your costume is being collected on your behalf by a confirmed designated representative then they will be required to present the following:

  • A signed letter from you stating that the designated person may collect your costume, this must be a paper document.
  • A copy of your Paid In Full Confirmation, this can be a paper or digital document.
  • A copy of your valid photo ID, this can be a paper or digital document.

Without any of the above documentation, we will not be able to release your costume.

What do I expect on the day ?

Your carnival experience is 100% all-inclusive and you will be provided with refreshments for the duration on both days with breakfast, snacks and a hot lunch on Carnival Monday.

For your safety and enjoyment the band is roped-off and fully staffed with security, stewards, road management and a police escort. There are also mobile toilets and other amenities available for you on the road.

You are free to roam the band as you wish and mingle with friends in other sections, the only time we ask you to get into your section is at the judging zone. We recommend that you stay with that band at all times and remain inside the ropes, this is for you own safety and any issues that occur outside of the ropes we cannot be responsible for.

Please read our terms of purchase carefully before registering your interest with Socaholic. By registering with Socaholic you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not accept these terms and conditions then you may not participate at Notting Hill Carnival with Socaholic. In these terms “we”, “us”, “our” or Socaholic and “you” and “your” refers to you as a participant at Notting Hill Carnival with Socaholic. We may modify these terms, for any reason at any time, by posting a new version on our website; these changes do not affect rights and obligations that arose prior to such changes. Your continued use of our website or any of our goods or services following the posting of modified terms will be subject to the terms in effect at the time of your use. Please review these terms periodically for changes. If you object to any provision of these terms or any subsequent modifications to these terms or become dissatisfied with our website, goods or services in any way, your only recourse is to immediately terminate use of our website, goods or services.
