Machel Montano kicks off Carnival Friday by dropping a massive remix of “Shake The Place” featuring the Queen of Rap, Nicki Minaj.
Onika Tanya Maraj better known as Nicki Minaj is a Trinidadian-born rapper, best loved for her musical versatility, animated flows, alter egos and accents.
She is one of the best-selling music artists, with over 100 million records sold worldwide and is only one of two female artists to have eight music videos with more than one billion views on YouTube, the other is Rihanna.
The collab by Machel and Destra, “Shake The Place” has become a fave in the lead up to Trinidad Carnival 2023 and the release of the remix featuring Nicki Minaj is set to propel the song around the globe.
On Carnival Friday, Machel will be celebrating 40 years in the music business with “One Show” at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The show features a huge line-up of Soca artists and performances from artists from all over the world including Wizkid, Rema and Ayra Starr.
